Repertoire

Our full repertoire extends to over 6 hours of music ranging from Baroque, Classical, light Classical, Romantic, Jazz and Blues, Pop and Modern, Scottish, Broadway and Easy Listening.  (For this reason we are unable to provide a full play list for clients.) We mix these genre appropriately to provide a blended programme that will satisfy the musical tastes of everyone on your guest list.

The WEDDING repertoire examples below are just a few of the many pieces we can offer and are listed here as a guide.

Pre-ceremony music to welcome and settle your guests:

  • Haydn’s “Serenade” from String Quartet Op 3 No 5
  • JS Bach’s “Air on a G String”
  • Schubert’s “Ave Maria”
  • “Romance” from Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nacht Musik”
  • “Flower Duet” from Lakme by Delibes

For the Entry, the bride may wish to be accompanied by bright, majestic music eg:

  • “Spring” from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”
  • “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba” by Handel
  • “The Prince of Denmark’s March” (Trumpet Voluntary) by Clarke
  • “Te Deum – Prelude” by Charpentier

Or serene, calming music eg:

  • “Canon in D” by Pachelbel
  • “Air in F” from Handel’s Water Music
  • “Sheep May Safely Graze” by JS Bach
  • “For the Love of a Princess” from the movie “Braveheart” (James Horner)

We are more than happy to play for HYMNS. If you have 50 guests or less the quartet will provide sufficient volume. Larger wedding parties will require the additional volume of a piano keyboard and in most cases we can accommodate this requirement. Thus hymns would be accompanied by piano keyboard, violin, viola and cello, a sophisticated and elegant alternative to the traditional organ sound.  We charge an extra £25 for this service.

Some suggestions of music during the Signing of the Register:

  • “Salut d’Amour” by Elgar
  • “Man I Love” by Gershwin
  • “Your Song” by Elton John
  • “Make you Feel my Love” (Dylan/Adele)

Music for the exit of the happy couple:

  • Handel’s “Hornpipe” in D – from the Water Music
  • “When I’m Sixty-four” by the Beatles
  • “Highland Cathedral” by Roever & Korb
  • Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
  • “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” by JS Bach

We are also happy to purchase music on your behalf if you have a special request. This will incur an additional cost to you. We would need 3 – 6 months to source new music if you require this extra service. If a special request is unavailable in string quartet format and requires to be arranged for your occasion, please contact Emma Greenhill Music http://www.emmagreenhillmusic.com.
